Here’s a peek inside my low-waste kitchen sink + cleaning tools. (I figured that since I cleaned my sink I’d might as well show it off!)
Massive disclaimer on this post: It’s OKAY to not use this time to “be productive” or “make the most of it.” These are challenging times. You’re allowed to be upset (I certainly am.) It’s okay if all you manage is to get through the day.
That being said, I’ve received a lot of questions recently about how we can continue (or start!) our eco-friendly lifestyles during COVID-19. Of course, we can’t go out with our Zero Waste kits or refuse as much single-use plastic. It’s disheartening for sure; however, think of what else you’re doing anyway! You’re probably already driving less, making your tea/coffee at home, and so on. So if you are wondering what else you can do during this time, this list is for you. And if you’re looking to help encourage others, please feel free to share it with your friends.
I’ve been doing more yoga lately in the name of self-care and it occurred to me that I should share my DIY mat cleaner with all of you! A few spritzes of this spray leaves my mat fresh and smelling lovely. And of course, it can be customized to your own preference by using your favourite essential oils.
These are uncertain and challenging times. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, many parents are finding themselves without childcare, working from home and homeschooling at the same time. It’s no easy feat. I’ve been brainstorming some activities for myself and my son while we’re isolating at home. For myself, I’m trying to balance my natural urge to “be productive” with some more calming and grounding activities that I know I need for my mental health.
I hope these ideas spark some inspiration for you too!
Two foods I absolutely love are granola and popcorn. The good news is that they can easily be made in a low-waste way at home. Woohoo!
