DIY stainless steel cleaner! Our home has stainless steel appliances, which get pretty disgusting with smudges and toddler fingerprints—especially because we play with these dinosaur magnets.
I finally looked up a way to get rid of them and found a great suggestion from David Suzuki Foundation’s Queen of Green recipes, and it couldn’t be easier. Here’s how it works:
- With a rag or paper towel, rub the appliance with olive oil (although I’m sure any oil would do).
- Follow up with white vinegar.
- Wipe clean.
Ta-dah! Admire your beautiful appliances.
Yes, it really does work and it makes a huge difference! Another “I-can’t-believe-I-can-call-this-a-DIY-it’s-so-easy-DIY” to add to my list.
(A little note I wanted to add: I’m very careful not to put a rag that has had oil on it into the dryer, as apparently this is a fire hazard. I’d recommend either skipping the dryer for this rag, or using a paper towel/napkin if you have one kicking around.)
Have you tried this method? What do you use?
