On mom blogging

Baby and dog

Here’s something that’s been on my mind since before J was born. How much of him do I share with the world?

In fact, one of the things that’s held me back from blogging about motherhood is privacy reasons. I follow many bloggers who are mothers and they share lots about their children, including photos of them. For me personally, it just doesn’t feel right. I’m very happy, of course, to share photos with friends and families, but there’s just something about sharing with the world that doesn’t sit well with me. If anyone is wondering why I don’t share photos of his face or tons of details, that’s why. 🙂

But it’s made me worried: can I even be a mom blogger if I don’t share my son’s name, photos, and details? Finally I just decided: yes, I can. I’ll just do it my way!

Maybe I’ll feel differently when he’s older and can consent. Or maybe in a few months I’ll change my mind! It’s a process, like the evolution of this blog, and I’ll just let it play out.
